Tutoring services - One on one tutoring services using the Barton Reading and Spelling System. The Barton system is an Orton-Gillingham based program, and is a multisensory, structured, sequential and cumulative system which has been scientifically proven to help individuals challenged by dyslexia. A minimum of two one hour sessions are given each week. Parents are always welcome to observe. They are also encouraged to be a part of the tutoring process by following through with short tasks at home. Parental support increases the student's success! Remote tutoring available.
Free consultations - We start the process with a free consultation to assess the needs of the student, inform you of the specifics of our program and answer any questions that you may have.
Free informational presentations - Our presentations provide parents or teachers with a basic understanding of dyslexia, present the signs and symptoms of dyslexia, and most importantly, convey how to help a student who is struggling with reading and spelling. Call or email today to set a date to have Michelle speak at your staff meeting or parent group.

To educate teachers and parents about the early warning signs of Dyslexia, to inform them of the necessary tools for intervention and to provide those tools through tutoring in a systematic and dynamic way, so that the student is able to succeed in school and in life.
I began my career in the education field 27 years ago. After teaching in a Montessori environment for 14 years I went home with my daughters to begin an eleven year journey in home schooling. When I wasn't able to teach my younger daughter to read, we began seeking outside support. Kendra was diagnosed with dyslexia and we were fortunate to be introduced to the Barton Reading and Spelling system. Kendra was initially tutored by a certified Barton tutor and then, when she started level three, I took over. After seeing Kendra go from a struggling reader to a fluent reader I became passionate about helping other students to become capable readers and confident students. I was trained by an expert and began tutoring other students at the Northwest Dyslexia Learning Center outside of Portland, Oregon. In January of 2016 I became a certified Barton tutor. Later that year my family moved home to Littleton, Colorado, and it is here where I am branching out on my own with Adventures In Dyslexia. I would be privileged to be of service to you and others in our community.
